The ICIFMS  has attributed the Zener Medal 2025 to Francesco Cordero and André Rivière

The ceremony of the Zener Medal Awards was held on 9 July 2025. 

Dr. Francesco Cordero from CNR-ISM in Rome received the medal with the following motivation:

For his contribution to the analysis of atomic-level processes and for improvement of internal friction measurements in the kHz range, which find application in functional materials.

Prof. André Rivière from Poitiers University received the medal with the following motivation:

For his contribution to the development of isothermal low-frequency mechanical spectroscopy in solids.
